Riverview Educate Together National School Mailing List Policy
Ratified November 2016.
Introductory Statement
During the set-up phase of the school and as parents were applying to enrol for 2016 and 2017, parents were also invited to sign up to the ‘Newsletter’, with the message ‘Enter your details to be kept informed’. Under Data Protection legislation, the school has an obligation to use the stored names and email addresses for that stated purpose only.
The BoM have developed this policy as they wish to preserve this communication channel for important messages such as enrolment dates, enrolment policy changes, school fundraising events and messages related to campaigns for equality in education.
Aims of this Policy

- to ensure the mailing list is only used for the stated purpose of keeping subscribers informed.
Policy Details
- The Secretary will email the mailing list when instructed by the Principal that a message is necessary.
- Any subscribers who wish to unsubscribe can do so via the ‘Unsubscribe’ button at the bottom of the email they have received. Alternatively, they can ask the Secretary to remove them from the mailing list and this can be done via the Mailchimp administration screen.

This policy will be available from the school office on request.

This policy was put into place in November 2016 and will be reviewed on an annual basis. Feedback is welcome – please send it to the school, for the attention of the Board of Management.
